ARTICLE I – DUTIES OF OFFICERS
Section 1. President.
The President shall preside at all meetings of the Association and the Executive Council, approve all expenditures of the Association, and perform such duties as usually are preformed by the President. Upon completion of his/her term of office, the President will then become a member of the Executive Council of AAEA for two years.
Section 2. President-Elect.
The President-Elect shall assist the President and assume presidential functions in case of need.
Section 3. Secretary.
The Secretary shall keep an accurate record of all meetings of the Executive Council and business meetings of the Association, and perform such secretarial duties, as the need of the Association shall demand.
Section 4. Treasurer.
The Treasurer shall make all disbursements as directed by the President, and present a written report at the annual meeting. He/she shall submit the books for audit at the completion of his/her term to the Executive Council. He/she shall turn over to the successor in office all monies, books and property of the Association.
ARTICLE II – DUTIES OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL
Section 1. The Executive Council
The Executive Council shall act as a steering committee for the growth and development of the Association.
1.2. It shall be empowered to act when immediate action is to the best interest of the Association.
1.3. The Council shall hold scheduled meetings during the Annual Conference, and as often as needed during their term of office.
1.4 The Council shall initiate, approve, supervise, and direct the preparation of all publications of the Association.
1.5. Three Council members shall constitute a quorum.
1.6 The Council may make recommendations on matters of policy and such recommendations shall be voted upon by mail ballots.
ARTICLE III – DUTIES OF THE COMMITTEES
Section 1. Conference Committee:
Sectionals, Demonstrations and Exhibits.
It shall be the purpose of this committee to involve individuals in the presentation of sectionals, demonstrations and appropriate vendors at the Annual Conference. This committee shall coordinate vendor displays of art books and supplies for the conference. The Conference chairperson of this committee will be responsible for progress communications with the Association’s president.
Section 2. Membership Committee
It shall be the duty of this committee to recruit members for the Association and keep a current directory.
Section 3. Nomination Committee:
It shall be the duty of this committee to present a slate of officers to the membership biennially.
Section 4. Newsletter Committee:
It shall be the responsibility of this committee to publish a newsletter three times per year.
Section 5. Awards Committee:
It shall be the responsibility of this committee to review and process award nominations as outlined by State, Regional, and National requirements.
ARTICLE IV – DUES AND MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. Amount of dues. The dues for all classes of membership in the state shall be determined by the Association in cooperation with NAEA. The Association is a unified state with National and receives a rebate for each AAEA member from NAEA.
Section 2. Membership year.
The membership year will be each member’s annual NAEA membership renewal.
Section 3. Payment of dues.
The dues for membership are payable annually to NAEA.
Section 4. Classes of membership.
The classes of membership are those of NAEA.
ARTICLE V – FISCAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE YEAR
The administrative year shall extend from October to November and the fiscal year from October to October to correlate with election of officers during the fall conference.
ARTICLE VI – VACANCIES
Section 1. In the event of a vacancy in the office of President or President-Elect, the Past-President will assume the office until the Council appoints a replacement.
Section 2. Other vacancies will be filled by Council appointment.
